A temporary alternate child abuse hotline number has been set up for callers who are unsuccessful in their attempt to report abuse and/or neglect, until issues preventing AT&T phones from reaching the regular toll-free number are resolved. Learn more: dcfs.la/pld24

Our Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline is down. The safety of children is important to us. If this is a life-threatening emergency, contact local law enforcement. Mandatory reporters should enter reports of abuse and/or neglect through the portal at dcfs.la/mandatedreporters.We are also experiencing technical difficulties with our LAHelpU phone line. For SNAP and Child Support matters, you can send your caseworker an email through the CAFÉ Self Service Portal. You can also email LAHelpU.DCFS@la.gov. LAHELP-U staff can look up your case and contact your caseworker if needed. In your email, please provide your name as it appears in our records, your contact information and case ID (the shorter number on the front of your EBT card), and a brief description of your situation. Please use a descriptive SUBJECT line (i.e. redetermination, interview, etc.) and include your case ID. Please allow at least 3 business days for a response. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
